Dr Ken Romeo - Anti Aging - A DNA Toxic break May Contribute to Accelerated Aging and Disease - Reno Nevada

OPINION:  Dr Ken Romeo   775-870-6942
"DNA double-strand breaks are rare, highly toxic, lesions requiring orchestrated and conserved machinery to prevent adverse consequences, such as cell death and cancer-causing genome structural mutations."
Double strand breaks trigger the DNA damage response that directs a cell to repair the break or begin apoptosis.
There is a probability that double strand breaks are major drivers of intrinsic aging. A model was presented in Mol Cell. 2016 Sep 1;63(5):729-38. doi: 10.1016/j.molcel.2016.08.004., dnaas to how double strand breaks could drive some of the basic mechanisms underlying age-related functional decline and death.
