Insulin keeps fat in “storage” AND stimulates the production of new fat.
Even worse, insulin lowers the level of an amino acid known as carnitine which is needed to carry fat precursors into the powerhouses of our cells (known as the mitochondria) where fat precursors can be burned as “waste” calories.
