Cancer considerations for Treatment with Genistein for Facial Wrinkles - Dr Ken Romeo - Anti Aging - Reno NV

OPINION: Dr. Ken Romeo   775-870-6942

You are post-menopause, beginning to suffer facial wrinkles and your local health food store recommends that you begin taking the wonder natraceutical - genistein - to help alleviate your facial wrinkles. Fine, except you are being treated for cancer and have been put on aromatase inhibitors.
Beware. Caution. Consult your physician or oncologist.

Think twice before genistein, the soy-based supplement if you are taking aromatase inhibitors to treat breast cancer or prevent its recurrence.
Genistein mimics the effects of estrogen in the body. Great! But genistein can negate the effectiveness of aromatase inhibitors, which are designed to reduce the levels of estrogens that can promote tumor growth in some types of breast cancer.
I can't say this enough - Use extreme caution and ask your physician before initiating or continuing genistein therapy if you are taking aromatase inhibitors to treat cancer.
